Tour of Charles Bukowski: Poet on the Edge
An exclusive, docent-led tour of the Huntington Library’s Charles Bukowski: Poet on the Edge. The tour group is limited to fifty Slake friends and subscribers. The tour includes:
- Admission to the Huntington and the tour through the exhibit, led by Sue Hodson, the Huntington’s curator of literary manuscripts and creator of the exhibition
- A custom photographic print of the manual typewriter Charles Bukowski used to write Women and many of his other works of poetry and fiction, signed by photographer Anne Fishbein. The print, from a photo of Fishbein’s first seen in novelist Geoff Nicholson’s meditation on discovering Bukowski in Slake’s newest issue, “Crossing Over,” has been hand-screened by Slake art director Alex Bacon.
- A private reception at the new Europane Bakery + Cafe (345 E. Colorado Blvd.) before that evening’s Slake reading at Vroman’s Bookstore (6:30 p.m.)
